AFTERSHOW ANNOUNCEMENT

Many Thanks to all who attended the ‘Inaugural Event’. Our guests, fans and dealers among the 4,000-5,000 attendee’s, WHAT A DAY! We made the BBC, HTV and also the event looks to go onto the CBBC. The Daily Express, Local Press, Easyjet inflight entertainment and El Mondo Spanish Press were in attendance for the whole day! Many thanks go out to all the volunteers and staff who made the day possible.

We hope to release a DVD soon courtesy of Steve Bellingham (Magic Ink Productions) of the whole day’s events with various talks, interviews and the whole behind the scenes of everything from Questions & Answers to the Evening Award Presentations.

A GALAXY OF STARS
The Somerset seaside town of Weston-Super-Mare was invaded last Saturday by many
monsters from the world of Doctor who and Star Wars, an Event enjoyed by
thousands.
Ive been to many conventions in my time and one of the biggest problems
that seem to haunt these events is organization. NOT SO for Jason Smith
and his army of troops. The weekend was simply one of the best organized
events i’ve ever been to in my 10 years with SFX Magazine! The fans were
happy, weather was fantastic and from what I saw the guests had a real
blast as well. One fan i spoke to traveled from Liverpool just to attend
the day and told me that the day was worth the 6 hour drive home that night!

This event had so much to do during the day from Photo opportunities
with the Tardis and Daleks, Dealer rooms stocked to the ceiling with sci
fi merchandise, Arcades, and a fantastic ball room where you could meet a
very impressive guest line up. Nothing was too much trouble when asking
stewards for directions to find other rooms, or activities throughout
the day. A massive thank you must also go to the Winter Gardens staff
who despite looking a little bemused by some of the costume characters
did a fantastic job in keeping everyone fed and watered.

Come on Jason, lets have another event, because your team could show
some of the bigger sci fi organisers a thing or two!

‘Hi Jason & Crew..what a day!!!!

I can honestly go on record as saying this was one of THE best events I"ve attended in 30 years of convention going.I enjoyed every second from our arrival,which was marvelously signposted to the time we left,it was superb.
